Yay! It’s my first day at college. Our institution marked the Inauguration Function for the academic year 2024–2025 today. I met my new buddies and enjoyed an inspiring speech by our chief guest, S. Prince Calvin Sir, followed by an introduction to our dedicated faculty members.
It’s truly a pleasure to return to college life after a long career break.

An interesting ice-breaking activity encouraged us to interact freely with our peers and overcome our shyness. Joyce Kiruba mam shared valuable life lessons using the acronym “SUBWAY,” which inspired us to stay positive and motivated. Later, officials from the Fire Department visited our school and conducted an awareness session on basic precautions and safety measures for celebrating Diwali safely. The session was informative and beneficial for the students as it emphasized the importance of fire safety and responsible celebration. Apart from this, the day went on as usual, and I handled the regular Science and Mathematics periods for the 8th and 9th standard students. The classes were interactive, and students showed good interest in the topics discussed. Overall, it was a calm and productive day at school

Today, I headed to school early in the morning as I was assigned to accompany five students to Vellamadai Higher Secondary School for the interschool Science Expo, Robotics, and Quiz competitions. The students enthusiastically participated in all the events and showcased their creativity and knowledge. It was a proud moment for us as our students secured the first prize in the Science Expo and fourth place in the Robotics competition. The event provided great exposure and learning opportunities for the participants. After returning to school, I updated the details regarding the event and encouraged other students to take part in similar competitions. Overall, it was a fulfilling and inspiring day.

Today, the school reopened after the Diwali holidays. It was a rainy day, and due to the weather conditions, there were a higher number of absentees in most of the classes. The day began with a calm atmosphere as students gradually settled back into their routine after the festive break. I handled the Mathematics revision session for the 10th standard students, focusing on key topics in preparation for their upcoming exams. The students actively participated and clarified their doubts during the session. Despite the low attendance, the classes went smoothly, and the day concluded on a productive note.

During the first two periods, I went to class 10A to assist my guide teacher in the Mathematics subject. The topic taught was the Pythagoras theorem, where I helped the students understand the concept and solve related problems.
Conducted the Thiran revision examination for classes 6, 7, and 8 in Tamil, English, and Mathematics subjects. The students actively participated and attempted the papers with enthusiasm. I also helped in distributing and collecting the question papers and ensured smooth conduct of the exam throughout the sessions.

I took four students to Hindustan College to participate in the “Veetukku Oru Vingyani” science expo organized by Puthiya Thalaimurai TV channel. The students enthusiastically presented their scientific models and explained their concepts with confidence. They interacted with judges and visitors, gaining valuable exposure to innovative ideas and creative projects from other schools. The event provided an excellent platform to encourage scientific thinking and teamwork among students. It was indeed a valuable and enriching learning experience for both the students and me.

As it was a Saturday, there were more absentees in most of the classes. I utilized the available time to revise a few important topics in the Mathematics subject with the students who were present. The revision session helped them reinforce the concepts they had previously learned. Later in the day, the students were taken to the school auditorium for the screening of the Tamil movie “Kurangu Pedal.” The film provided both entertainment and valuable moral lessons. The students enjoyed the movie.

Additionally, I was assigned exam supervision duty for the 10th standard monthly examination. The day went productively as I balanced both teaching and examination responsibilities efficiently.
